In Collaboration: Arts and Science

We proposed and chaired an interdisciplinary arts-science workshop hosted by the IAS in Birmingham in September 2015. Professor Geoffrey Crossick, University of London and Director Arts and Humanities Research Council’s (AHRC) Cultural Value Project, and Professor Barry Smith, Director Institute of Philosophy, University of London and Leadership Fellow AHRC Science in Culture Theme, acted as the co-convenors. The event explored the factors and processes that lead to and allow interdisciplinary collaborations to initiate and develop productively. It involved participants from across the UK, including academics and artists.
